Makeup brushes usually hold onto oils and dirt which may lead to build up of bacteria and it is therefore recommended to Clean makeup brushes about once every two weeks using either shampoo or a brush cleanser. It is not advisable to use bar soaps or hand soaps as they can strip the brushes.
Cleaning makeup brushes
-Wet the brush bristles with some lukewarm water.
-Place a drop of makeup brush cleanser or shampoo into the palm of your hand and then gently massage the tips of the bristles in your palm.
-Rinse the bristles using running water.
-Squeeze out the excess moisture using a clean towel.
-Reshape the brush head.
-Let the brush dry with its bristles hanging off the edge of a counter. Do not stand the brushes up to dry, as this may cause mold and bacteria to growth.
